Obtaining the Spell
Minimum Blue Mage Level Needed To Acquire Spell: Level 10
Claw Cyclone is best hunted in Jugner Forest.

This spell can be soloed safely starting around level 24 or so. A Higher level helper can get you the spell earlier.

Bring Remedies to cure Paralysis, or have a White Mage sub-job for Paralyna.

Tiger Hunting Grounds Camp #1A & 1B
Name Level Location
Forest Tiger 22-25 Jugner Forest

The Best place to hunt Tigers is in Jugner Forest. The first Camp, named Camp A above, will be along the West side of the zone, ranging along the road.

If you are hunting in your 20's you will get aggro from Orcs, Goblins, Tigers, and the rare Walking Tree if you are unlucky. The Camp Zone circled in Red above is fairly low on aggro mobs, so if you are careful in it, you should be fine. There are four or five spawn points.

The Tigers are dangerous, so do not hold back in your fights. Be ready to cure yourself, and remove Paralysis as needed. Open your fights with an Enfeeble like Wild Oats, and then use the Head Butt/Bludgeon method to win your fights.

If you desire the spell at the time you can use it, you will need help. A Blue Mage learn party is perfect for this spell.

Of course if you have higher level help, you can easily get the spell with no trouble.

A Second Camp, shown above as Camp B is also a good option. There are several tigers near the cave that holds the zone to Carpenters' Landing at J-8.

A Level 21 BLU/NIN can win fights here. At that level you will find the Tigers to be T and VT here, but kills are possible with care. Fight as directed above for Camp A. Roar is still a big problem, so be equipped to deal with it. Once you reach the mid 20's the fights are very simple.

Tiger Hunting Grounds Camp #2
Name Level Location
Forest Tiger 22-25 Carpenters' Landing
Sabertooth Tiger 28-32 Batallia Downs
Sabertooth Tiger 28-32 Sauromugue Champaign
Sabertooth Tiger 29-33 Carpenters' Landing
Tundra Tiger 34-37 Beaucedine Glacier
Uleguerand Tiger 59-62 Uleguerand Range
Wajaom Tiger 65-68 Bhaflau Thickets
Wajaom Tiger 65-68 Wajaom Woodlands
Cave Tiger 73-76 Aydeewa Subterrane
Ovinnik 77-79 Kuftal Tunnel

There are a lot of other Tigers around the world. Many make good targets when you are higher in level, but often there are very few to kill in the areas, making them less then the best camps. The Higher ones will take a party to kill, so they are not recommended.

Special notes about the spell a Blue Mage may like to know
Can I solo it? Yes. You should have no problems by level 25 in camp #1
Do I need any special items? Yes, a way to remove Paralysis is a must.
Do Tigers like to use the move? They only have three TP moves, so it happens often.
The Spell deals a two hit Slashing type attack.
Claw Cyclone can be paired with any of the following spells to create the Lizard Killer Trait: Foot Kick, or Ram Charge.
