Obtaining the Spell
Minimum Blue Mage Level Needed To Acquire Spell: Level 53
is best hunted in Yuhtunga Jungle.
This spell can be soloed starting in the low 40's, but you must be at least 53 to learn. No party is needed for the Yuhtunga Jungle camp.
No Special items needed. Eye Drops, Antidotes, and Remedies, can all be useful, but are not required. A low damage weapon to feed the monster TP helps.
From the outpost, while facing away from it, drop into the first hole to the left. Exit the small cave and you will be in your camp which covers the F-11 area noted above. At the level which you can learn the spell the Opo-opos will present no challenge. Bop the little guys until they give up the spell!
Several Blue Mages report that they have seen a better rate of Magic Fruit being used on Purgonorgo Isle by the Opo-opos there. Take the Manaclipper from Bibiki Bay out to the Isle (Make sure you get on the right clipper!), or if you have the Holiday item that lets you teleport directly, use that! The Coastal Opo-opos hang out in the tunnels and beaches on the East, South and West sides of the island. At the level you can learn the spell you will have no issues with them.
There are higher level Opo-opos all about the world, but most will take more work then the Camp #1 Opo's, or are an annoying trip like the Coastal Opo-opos on Purgonorgo Isle. So they are not recommended.
Special notes about the spell a Blue Mage may like to know
Can I solo it? Yes. By the time you can learn the spell you will have no problems in camp #1
Do I need any special items? No. A low damage weapon to feed TP, and a warp item to save a long walk home are nice.
Do Opo-opos like to use the move? They have a lot of moves, so it can take some time to see it.
The Spell is about equal to Cure IV. It heals one more HP for each additional point of VIT, and two more HP for each point of MND
Blank Gaze can also be learned from Opo-opos.
Magic Fruit can be paired with any of the following spells to create the Resist Sleep Trait: Pollen, Wild Carrot, Yawn, or Exuviation
