Special Notes on Monster and it's TP Moves

Phuabo swim about underwater, where they cannot be targeted. They aggro by true hearing and pop out of the water and attack once you enter the small range of their hearing, at which point they can then be targeted. Many of the TP moves are dangerous. The spikes from Plasma Charge stun often. The Silence from Voiceless Storm is dangerous to casters and Ninja. All of the damage moves can hit quite hard, as can the monsters normal physical attacks.


Obtaining the Spell
Minimum Blue Mage Level Needed To Acquire Spell: Level 66 with Magus Jubbah equipped, 69 without.
Plasma Charge is best hunted in Al'Taieu.

A small party is recommended for this spell. A healer and tank at least. A skilled Ninja can solo the lower level Phuabo. This spell can be soloed with great risk by a Blue Mage starting at 75.

You must be on or past CoP mission 8-1 to enter Al'Taieu. Party members should have Echo Drops for Voiceless Storm, and Remedies for the plague from Spine Lash. A White Mage for status cures is very helpful. Equipping Blank Gaze or Geist Wall is a must for dealing with Plasma Charge.

Once you zone into Al'Taieu, head to the ramp at H-11 that leads up to the Grand Palace of Hu'Xzoi. This ramp makes for a very safe camp. From here you can pull lurking Ul'phuabo.

Om'phuabo are found roughly from 7 O'clock clockwise around to 5 O'clock on the map of Al'Taieu. As they are higher levels and very nasty fights, they are not recommended with the lower ones so easily reached.


Special notes about the spell a Blue Mage may like to know
Can I solo it? Yes at 75 you can, but the fights are very risky and the chance fo death high. A small party is much safer and highly recommended.
Do I need any special items? Yes, Echo Drops and Remedies to cure possible status effects. You also must be at or past the 8-1 CoP mission to hunt this spell. Equipping Blank Gaze or Geist Wall helps quite a bit.
Do Phuabo like to use the move? They have many moves, but tend to use the spell at least once a fight.
Plasma Charge can be used to create the Auto Refresh Trait. It counts as four points of the eight needed.
